Description

Leopard Molly Poecilia Sphenops 3cm

Overview: The Leopard Molly, scientifically known as Poecilia Sphenops, is a captivating freshwater fish renowned for its striking appearance. Characterized by its dappled leopard-like spots and sleek, elongated body, this species adds an exotic touch to any aquarium.

Origin: Native to Central America, particularly Mexico and parts of Guatemala, these Mollies thrive in freshwater environments with moderate temperatures.

Feeding: Leopard Mollies are omnivorous, relishing a diet comprising high-quality flake or pellet food, supplemented with occasional treats like bloodworms, brine shrimp, or blanched vegetables.

Tank Mates: Known for their peaceful demeanor, Leopard Mollies cohabit well with other peaceful fish species like tetras, guppies, and peaceful bottom-dwellers such as Corydoras catfish. However, avoid housing them with aggressive or fin-nipping species.

Aggression: Generally peaceful, though males might occasionally display territorial behavior. Providing adequate hiding spots and space can mitigate any potential aggression.

Experience Level: Suitable for aquarists of varying experience levels, the Leopard Molly is relatively hardy and adaptable, making it an excellent choice for both beginners and seasoned hobbyists.

Water Parameters: Leopard Mollies prefer a moderately alkaline pH ranging from 7.0 to 8.0 and a water temperature between 72°F to 78°F (22°C to 26°C). They also appreciate well-filtered water with occasional water changes to maintain optimal conditions.
