Description

Bronze Corydoras Aeneus 3cm Catfish

Overview: The Bronze Corydoras Aeneus, also known as the Bronze Cory, is a popular freshwater fish known for its peaceful nature and unique armored appearance. They typically grow up to 3 inches in length and are a staple in community aquariums due to their bottom-dwelling, scavenging habits.

Origin: Native to South America, these fish are found in a variety of freshwater habitats ranging from slow-moving rivers to stagnant ponds. They are adaptable and hardy, making them ideal for beginners.

Feeding: Omnivores by nature, Bronze Corydoras thrive on a varied diet. High-quality sinking pellets or wafers should form the basis of their diet, supplemented with occasional live or frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia.

Tank Mates: They are best suited to community tanks with other peaceful fish. Ideal tank mates include small tetras, rasboras, guppies, and other non-aggressive species. Avoid housing them with large or aggressive fish that may harm these gentle bottom dwellers.

Aggression: Bronze Corydoras are notably peaceful and social. They prefer the company of their own kind and should be kept in groups of at least 5 to 6 for their well-being.

Experience Level: These fish are perfect for both novice and experienced aquarists. They are not demanding in terms of care and can tolerate a range of water conditions.

Water Parameters:

  • Temperature: 72-79°F (22-26°C)
  • pH: 6.0-7.8
  • Hardness: 2-25 dGH

Regular water changes and a well-filtered tank with plenty of hiding spots are recommended to maintain their health and happiness.
