Origin: 
Native to the slow-moving rivers and streams of Colombia in South America, the Apistogramma Viejeta Gold thrives in areas with dense plant life and leaf litter, mimicking these environments in the aquarium will keep them happy and healthy.

Feeding
: These omnivores enjoy a varied diet, consisting of high-quality pellets or flakes, as well as live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms. A varied diet ensures vibrant color and good health.

Tank Mates: 
Due to their generally peaceful nature, Apistogramma Viejeta Golds can coexist with other small, non-aggressive fish like tetras, rasboras, and Corydoras. Avoid housing them with large or overly aggressive species to prevent stress.

Aggression: 
While relatively peaceful, males can be territorial, especially during breeding. It’s best to provide plenty of hiding spaces with plants and caves to diffuse aggression.

Experience Level: 
Moderate. They are suited for aquarists with some experience due to their specific water and tank condition needs.
