Description

The Apistogramma Agassizi Blue Flame is a vibrant and striking dwarf cichlid known for its brilliant blue coloration and long, flowing fins. Native to the slow-moving rivers of South America, this species adds a splash of color and personality to any freshwater aquarium.

Origin:
Found in the Amazon River basin, particularly in Peru, Brazil, and Colombia, these fish inhabit slow-moving, densely vegetated streams and tributaries.

Feeding:
Omnivorous by nature, Apistogramma Agassizi Blue Flame enjoys a varied diet of high-quality flakes or pellets, as well as live and frozen foods like brine shrimp, daphnia, and bloodworms.

Tank Mates:
Best kept with other peaceful species such as small tetras, Corydoras, and other dwarf cichlids. Avoid housing them with large or overly aggressive fish to prevent stress.

Aggression:
While generally peaceful, Apistogramma Agassizi Blue Flame can become territorial, especially during breeding. Males may show aggression towards each other, so it’s ideal to keep a single male with multiple females.

Experience Level:
Recommended for intermediate to experienced aquarists due to their specific water parameter needs and territorial behavior during breeding.

Water Parameters:

Temperature: 72-82°F (22-28°C)

pH: 5.5-7.0

Hardness: Soft to slightly hard (1-10 dGH)

This species thrives in well-maintained aquariums with clean, slightly acidic water, making regular water changes essential for their health.
